The Boards
Our ultimate River Quiver lineup of river surfboards was designed to meet the needs of the Colorado surfer. River waves are fickle and change with each rise and drop in river flow. It is a great idea to show up at a river wave with a varied quiver, and we have the selections geared towards ever changing river conditions, variations of different river waves, and the surfers skill and ability level.
About Colorado Surf Supply
Colorado Surf Supply is the home of river surf boards built by Dan Setzke. Dan’s journey from a coastal surfer to a landlocked river surfboard builder is one of innovation, passion, and a relentless drive to push the boundaries of this growing sport. A Colorado native who was transplanted to the Jersey Shore he had the opportunity to experience and surf the inconsistent yet occasionally epic waves that the east coast is known for. A move back to Colorado and the experience of being cutoff from easy access to the ocean sparked an interest in trying to find a way to scratch the itch. After his first river surf session in 2014, and seeing that there could and would be a growing community that shared a common background and interest sent him down this path.
Knowing there would be a gap in the local market for high-quality river surfboards, Dan drew on his own experience in the river, and began experimenting with designs that catered specifically to the needs of local waves and conditions. Being driven by the community, and their support of the initiative to create something local and home grown he continued to work, and rework his designs to come up with the lineup of the ultimate river quiver.
